The end of a season
Last night our broomball season ended with a loss in a shootout to "The Team That Reads". It's sad cause I thought we had a chance to go to the finals, and losing in a shootout is never fun. In the end, I know R. and I had a great time and would love to play again next year. Here are some pictures of our team in action.

Natural Born Ballers
We did it! Natural Born Ballers made it through our first round of playoffs on Tuesday night. For those of you that don't know, R. and I play on a broomball team in Patterson Park. It's the first time we've ever played, and really the first time I've ever heard about broomball. Somehow our team has gone from beginners to the second round of playoffs.
Now I don't want to sound like I am bragging, because we truly are bad. We still look like beginners and have no ball control. Defensively we are falling all over the ice. (Oh yeah, did I mention it's on ice?) But somehow, we made it to the second round of playoffs.
Here are 2 sites about broomball: www.broomball.com and www.usabroomball.com. It's a whole new world of winter fun that we never even knew about!

Jersey
This weekend we packed up the car (including Sadie) and drove up to New Jersey for R's Grandfather's 80th birthday party as well as his cousin Melissa's baby shower. It was a very packed weekend of family events, but a weekend that I really enjoyed.
It really made me miss my grandparents, especially my G-pa Becker. When I was in elementary school, my Dad's parents passing away from cancer. Then around HS my Mom's mother passed away. Grandpa Becker was by far the grandparent my sister and I were the closest to, and have some of the best memories of. I remember him and I going on a Hot Air Balloon ride together. I remember his love of Penn State Football as well as his love for word search puzzles. His "Dutchy" accent was so thick, when I would call him on the phone in college, I would also get my dutchy accent back instantly, saying "yah" and putting "then" on to the end of every sentance. And he was the King of bad jokes!
Life is never the same when you lose someone you love so much, but I am very grateful to have the opportunity to have grandparents again and spend time getting to know them.
