Huh Moment

It's a little late but my huh moments from Wednesday are that while walking in the park I saw a squirrel pee. This might just be an "Oh, Snap" moment due to the rarity that it will ever happen again.
My other Huh moment was at the O's game. R.'s boss gave us some really amazing tickets. To my left were 2 women that called all the players by their first names. They yelled for "Nicky" and "Brian" as if they were BFF. As well they talked about recent trades between teams. The guys in back of us talked food. How to make an awesome Ceasar Salad, grilled shrimp with a "Baltimore marinade" and were coming up with ideas to do an Iron Chef Saturday and make wings. They were also talking about how they critiqued their wives/girlfriends cooking when they tried to cook for them. I wouldn't want to cook for them either with that type of pressure!

Reasons number 1, 2, and 3 I know my sister is cooler than me

1. My sister introduced me and my family to Icey Delights...the snowball stand in Highlandtown

2. My neighbors cousin Wolfgang (that's his real name!) asked if I was Beth's sister. I have been in Baltimore for about 6 years, Bethany, about 6 months

3. My sister waited on Ray Lewis at the new bar she's working at

Huh Moment

Yesterday my Huh moment was when Penny and I were eating lunch in Fells Point. I saw a blind couple walk by with their matching white canes and the guy was wearing a blue shirt that said "Cane Skating". To think, this nice blind fellow goes ice skating and can't see a thing, while many people go ice skating, see the wall and still run into it!
Close second was the guy walking down Baltimore Street carrying a rocking chair over his head!

Police.......RUN!

Yesterday I was hanging out with my neighbor Marissa and she told me her husband Craig has been doing some hard core training with their dog Gidgett. Supposedly when he yells "Police" and runs, she is to stop whatever she is doing and run away as well. I guess when the police are ticketing people $1000 for having their dog off the leash in the park, the people of Baltimore will try anything!

Really, who isn't running from the police here?

Boring!

Sometimes it stinks to know so many cool and interesting people cause it makes me think my life is boring. Dana was in Spain for a year, Sean is back in Fiji, Vanessa (Sean's girlfriend) is all over the globe with peace studies, Brita's in California....that's just a few of the globe trotters I know.
I just have to continually tell myself that R. and I are in a holding position at this time and trying to figure out our next steps. Waiting is the worst part really, with no idea what is next when this year is up. I guess the plus side is at least Taj has his passport!

Beach

This past weekend we drove down to the beach to visit Uncle Jim and Auntie Flo, Taj's Great, Great Aunt and Uncle. Yup, 2 greats! We quickly learned that our max beach time daily was about 2 hours. Not much time but at least it wasn't Baltimore. R. enjoyed kayaking while I made attempts to get back into running. Taj's first experience with the ocean he smiled when the water touched his feet...next wave came up to his waste but he wasn't too much of a fan. He did enjoy watching the waves when R. carried him on our walks on the beach in the evenings. I am thinking he is more and more like his father every day. He LOVES being outside as opposed to inside and wants to be held a majority of the time. Thankfully he has my sleeping habits and has learned to take naps.

Taj's first day at the beach...all decked out and looking like a Little Man.
